Location: Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Client Since: 2012
We’re proud to feature client Conexus Arts Centre, a world-class performing arts and theatre complex located within the heart of Wascana Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. The theatre was constructed in 1967, a design of Izumi, Arnott, and Sucijama, in commemoration of Canada’s centenary, and opened in 1970 as the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts (as it was known until 2006). It was renamed in 2006 after a generous donation was given by the Conexus Credit Union.
The theatre boasts two large spaces – a 2031-seat Main Theatre, and a 1600-capacity Convention Hall – as well as a variety of conference rooms and lobby display areas. It’s also home to the Regina Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra that dates back to 1904, an initiative of Scottish immigrant and musician Franklin L. Laubach.
The Conexus Arts Centre has long attracted high-class artists and shows, and this year played host to the first ever Regina International Film Festival and Awards (RIFFA), which took place in October. It also serves as a space for private events, tradeshows, and weddings, and offers catering under Executive Chef Leo Pantel, a frequent medal winner at the Gold Medal Plates in Regina.
This year’s season presents a variety of events, including a Wine and Spirits Gala, musicals, theatre, ballet, symphony, tribute concerts, children’s events, and the So You Think You Can Dance North American tour.
